Country | Blues

Country blues singer songwriter occasionally interspersed with a little cheeky northern folk. Original songs delivered with melodic playing and a deep, rich vocal.
Ric has been song writing and performing for over 15 years as both a solo artist and with various collaborations, even a stint in a country rock band.

He picked up the ukulele on honeymoon in Hawaii and has been introducing it into his performances, alongside guitar, over the past few years with a string of festival appearances. After the release of his debut EP ‘Pies, Love & Ukulele’ in 2015. 2016 saw the release of his second CD ‘Iron Butterfly’ with a mostly country blues focus and great reviews. 2018 sees a third release in the pipeline with new songs sneaking into this year’s set lists.

A prolific songwriter with eclectic influences from Tom Lehrer to B.B King, Gogol Bordello to Brad Paisley. All can be heard in his songs from the deep country of ‘Little Better Man’ and ‘The Porch Light’ , through the blues of ‘The Rattlin’ Train’ to the downright silly ‘When the Bomb Drops’ (a song about towels and cheap hotels).
