Getting Cracking in 2016

We’re already making plans for Summer 2016! It’s our 4th year with Wigan Live, and we want to make it bigger than ever, attracting folks from all over the North West to see what Wigan has to offer! The team had our first meeting this week, and we’re all really excited and starting to plan. The date of this year’s festival will be the weekend of 19th & 20th August – with bands playing all Friday night and all Saturday – so get it in your calendars! We’ve had some truly fantastic musicians join us over the past 3 years and many hundreds of guests, and it looks like this year will continue to get better and better. 2015 Charity: Derian House

As you know, this a free festival – however every year we fundraise so that we can donate to a charity, and give back to the community. So we’re pleased to announce this year, any excess money raised from this year’s Wigan Live Festival will be given to local charity Derian House. Situated in the heart of Lancashire, Derian House is renowned throughout the region as being at the forefront of children’s palliative and respite care. Wigan Live Festival is here!

Today marks the starts of Wigan Live Festival. 2 days of free music in Wigan Town Centre. The first brilliant music of the day will be at The Coven – starting at 2:30pm with The Ambition and then The Boulevard is open with music from 2:45pm Then towards 4pm we have a huge setlist of bands from both The Tudor going all the way into the night. Also at 4pm, there’ll be a smaller – but fantastic set from bands at The John Bull Chophouse At 5pm – The Officer’s Club will start the night there with a range of acoustic acts At 6:30pm (ish) Joe’s Bar opens up with a big start and Storm Lanterns. WIGAN LIVE FESTIVAL – 2014 Following 2013’s sensational debut of Wigan Live Festival – we are back this year with even more. This year we are proud to announce a free 2 day festival over 29th and 30th August 2014 – a real celebration of local music.
