Band Interview: Invisible Ducks

Why did you pick your band name?

It came from a singer in a band our guitarist was in before Invisible Ducks. The singer had young kids and instead of telling them he had farted in front of them he said he had Invisible Ducks following him round quacking. We thought it was funny and memorable so we used it.

Who writes the songs, what are they about?

We all have a hand in the writing of songs, Tony (guitar) does the chords and most of the music, Emma (Vocals) takes care of the words and vocal melody. John (drums) writes the drums and Sarah (bass) does the bass lines and everyone helps to arrange the songs. Our songs are about personal life experiences, funny stories and things we feel our audience can relate to.

What is your favourite song that you’ve produced?

This is a hard question we all have a different song as our favourite.
Tony – Broken Hearts, Broken Guitars
Emma – Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang!
Sarah – Go, Baby, Go!
John – Crossroad
We always prefer to find out which song the audience liked best.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever played and why?

T Fest at Wigan Rugby Union club as we played really well it was lots of fun, great sound, great audience reaction and participation and just a great open air gig.

If you could gig with any musician alive or dead who would you pick?
Again hard question we all have a different answer
Tony – Joe Satriani
Emma – Slash
Sarah – Jimi Hendrix
John – Freddie Mercury

How much time do you put into your music per week?
